Mootsmog is a daily puzzle site run by ThirtyFour LLC. We do not run advertising cookies, analytics pixels, or sell your data.

What we store

• Login cookies — if you sign in with X, Auth.js keeps a session cookie so the leaderboard knows who you are. That is required for the login you asked for.
• On this device — night mode, and (for guests) which of today’s puzzles you already finished, so the hub can show a stamp.
• Guest cookie — if you play without logging in with X, we store a guest id, the display name and profile picture you chose, and which of today’s puzzles you already started (guests can play 3 a day). That cookie is what puts your guest score on the leaderboard and remembers your name on this browser.

What we do not do

No Google Analytics, no ad networks, no retargeting, no sale of personal data. Scores you submit while logged in, or as a named guest, are stored so we can show leaderboards.

X (Twitter) login

Signing in sends you to X. X has its own cookies and privacy policy on its domain. We only receive the profile fields needed to create your Mootsmog account (name, @handle, avatar).

How long

Session cookies last while you stay logged in. Device preferences stay until you clear this site’s data in your browser. The cookie notice remembers that you dismissed it for about 13 months.
